Where to Watch Bundesliga in 2026-27: The Complete US Guide

German football has a new American home this season, and the structure is unlike anything the league has used before: most matches are free, a smaller marquee package sits on cable, and every single match is available in Spanish. Here is the full map of the 2026-27 Bundesliga in the United States.

The four places matches live

ESPN and ESPN+ are out. The league's six-season run in the ESPN ecosystem ended after 2025-26.

The deals behind it

Versant's USA Sports holds exclusive English-language rights under a five-year agreement worth roughly $100 million, running through the 2030-31 season. A minimum of 30 matches a year air on USA Network; everything else streams free on Fandango.

NBCUniversal's Telemundo holds exclusive Spanish-language rights in a three-year deal worth about $10 million a season. Over 100 matches air on Telemundo or Universo, and all matches stream on Peacock.

Between them, the two packages reach more than 80 million US homes.

Fandango: the free option

Fandango Stream is the ad-supported service from the movie-ticketing brand, built on the platform formerly known as Vudu. For the Bundesliga it functions as the league's default English-language home.

What it costs: nothing. No subscription, no login, no registration.

Where it runs: Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Google TV, Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Vizio smart TVs, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Apple Vision Pro, iOS and Android, and desktop browsers.

Ads: present, but USA Sports has committed to no mid-play interruptions during live action.

Geography: US only.

For this first season, halftime analysis comes from the league's own world-feed studio show, produced out of the Bundesliga's Mexico-based facility, because USA Sports has not yet built a dedicated American studio production.

USA Network: the marquee package

At least 30 matches a season — generally the biggest fixtures, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund appearances — air on USA Network. This is the one part of the package that costs money.

The Spanish-language package

Do not overlook this even if English is your first language. It is the only way to watch every match on a single service.

Telemundo is a free over-the-air broadcast network. A $30 to $50 indoor antenna picks it up in most metro areas, at no recurring cost. Universo requires a pay-TV or live TV streaming subscription.

Peacock Premium carries every Bundesliga match with Spanish commentary. Following the August 18, 2026 price increase, Peacock costs:

Premium$12.99$129.99
Premium Plus$19.99$199.99

Premium is the tier you need for live sports.

Kickoff times for US viewers

German football is a morning sport in America, which is one of its underrated advantages.

Times shift by an hour during the few weeks in late autumn and early spring when European and American daylight-saving changes are misaligned.

Bandwidth and setup

Plan on 10-15 Mbps for a stable HD stream, or 25 Mbps or more if you want the best quality with other devices active. Saturday-morning kickoffs land in a busy household window, so headroom matters.

Wired Ethernet to your primary streaming device removes most buffering complaints. If your internet plan has not been reviewed in several years, comparing current fiber and fixed-wireless provider tiers for your address is generally a better investment than new hardware.

What channel is the Bundesliga on right now?

The short version: USA Network in English, Telemundo and Universo in Spanish — plus two streaming platforms, Fandango (free) and Peacock, that carry far more matches than the television channels do.

If you are scrolling a guide looking for a channel number, that is the whole answer. Here is the detail behind it.

The channel-by-channel breakdown

Channel or platformLanguageMatches per seasonHow to get it
USA NetworkEnglish30+Cable, satellite, or live TV streaming
FandangoEnglish~270–275Free app or website, no account
TelemundoSpanishPart of a 100+ slateFree over the air with an antenna
UniversoSpanishPart of a 100+ slateCable or live TV streaming
PeacockSpanishEvery match$12.99/month Premium

Note what is not on that list: ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Select. The league's six-season run in the ESPN ecosystem ended after 2025-26.

Why there is no single channel

The Bundesliga split its US rights in two for 2026-27.

Versant's USA Sports took English-language rights in a five-year deal worth roughly $100 million, running through the 2030-31 season. It committed a minimum of 30 matches a year to USA Network — the linear channel — and put everything else on Fandango, free.

NBCUniversal's Telemundo took Spanish-language rights in a three-year, roughly $10 million-a-year deal. More than 100 matches a season air on Telemundo or Universo, and Peacock carries all of them.

That structure means the answer to "what channel" depends on which match you want. A marquee Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund fixture is more likely to land on USA Network; a midtable Saturday-morning match is almost certainly on Fandango.

How to get USA Network

This is the only paid element on the English side.

ProviderApproximate monthly cost
DirecTV MyEntertainment$34.99
Sling Blue$45.99
YouTube TV$82.99
Hulu + Live TV$89.99
Cable or satelliteVaries by market

Fubo removed USA Network during a carriage dispute with NBCUniversal in December 2025. A new agreement in June 2026 restored Telemundo and Universo to the service, but USA Network had not returned as of mid-2026 reporting. Confirm the current lineup before signing up for that purpose.

USA Network's channel number varies by provider and market — check your provider's guide or the channel-lineup tool on their website rather than relying on a national list.

How to get Telemundo free

Telemundo is a broadcast network, which means it transmits over the air at no cost. A $30 to $50 indoor antenna picks it up in most metro areas, delivering a share of that 100-plus match slate for a one-time hardware purchase.

The same antenna brings ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and PBS with it, so the payback extends well beyond soccer. Check a coverage map for your address first — terrain and distance from the transmitter matter more than antenna price, and an attic or roof mount substantially outperforms a window unit in fringe areas.

Universo is a cable channel and is not available over the air.

Fandango: the channel most people will actually use

Fandango Stream — the free, ad-supported service from the movie-ticketing brand, built on the former Vudu platform — carries every English-language match that USA Network does not. That is the large majority of the season.

There is no cost, no subscription, no login, and no registration. It runs on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Vizio smart TVs, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Apple Vision Pro, iOS, Android, and desktop browsers. Coverage is US-only.

Bundesliga is not on ESPN+ anymore: where the matches went

If you opened the ESPN app for a German league match this season and found nothing, your subscription is not broken. ESPN's six-season run with the Bundesliga ended after 2025-26. The league now has an entirely new American home — and for most matches, it costs nothing at all.

Here is what changed and where to go.

The short answer

English-language coverage moved to Versant's USA Sports. At least 30 matches a season air on USA Network; every other match — roughly 270 to 275 per season — streams free on Fandango, with no subscription, no login, and no registration.

Spanish-language coverage moved to NBCUniversal. More than 100 matches a season air on Telemundo and Universo, and every match streams on Peacock in Spanish.

ESPN and ESPN Select carry no Bundesliga league matches in 2026-27.

Why the league left ESPN

Under the previous arrangement, ESPN held combined English and Spanish rights and paid roughly $30 million a year. The great majority of matches sat behind the ESPN+ paywall, with very few linear television windows. That produced reliable revenue but limited reach, and it drew persistent criticism from American supporters who felt German football was invisible compared with the Premier League.

The Bundesliga chose distribution over paywall. It split the package in two:

  • Versant's USA Sports took English-language rights in a five-year deal worth roughly $100 million — about $20 million a season — running through 2030-31.
  • NBCUniversal's Telemundo took Spanish-language rights in a three-year deal worth about $10 million a year.

Combined, that is roughly the same money ESPN was paying. The difference is that most of the inventory is now free.

League executives pointed to the 2026 World Cup on home soil as the reason for the pivot — a once-in-a-generation moment to convert casual American interest, and one that a subscription paywall would have squandered.

What Fandango actually is

This is the part that confuses people, because Fandango is best known as a movie-ticketing brand. Fandango Stream is its free, ad-supported streaming service, built on the platform formerly known as Vudu.

The pitch is simplicity. As USA Sports president Matt Hong put it, the thesis is "to make it as easy as possible — not only free, but as easy as possible for consumers." There is no cost, no subscription, no login, and no registration. You open the app or the website and the match plays.

USA Sports has also committed to preserving the broadcast experience, with no mid-play advertising interruptions during live action.

Fandango Stream runs on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Google TV, Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Vizio smart TVs, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Apple Vision Pro, iOS and Android phones, and desktop browsers. Coverage is geo-restricted to the United States.

What you need to do now

If you kept ESPN for the Bundesliga, audit that subscription. ESPN+ was renamed ESPN Select in August 2025 and now costs $13.99 a month; ESPN Unlimited is $31.99. Neither carries the German league. If the Bundesliga was your reason for holding one, cancel it and put the Fandango app on your TV instead.

Install Fandango on your main streaming device. It is a free app in every major store. Do it before a matchday rather than during one.

Decide whether you need USA Network. Around 30 matches a season — typically the marquee fixtures — sit there. If you already have cable or a live TV package, you have it. If not, the cheapest routes are DirecTV's MyEntertainment package from about $34.99 a month or Sling Blue at about $45.99. YouTube TV ($82.99) and Hulu + Live TV ($89.99) also carry it. Fubo dropped USA Network in a December 2025 carriage dispute and, as of mid-2026 reporting, had not restored it.

Consider Spanish coverage even if you do not speak Spanish fluently. Telemundo is a free over-the-air broadcast network — a $35 antenna picks it up — and Peacock Premium at $12.99 a month carries every single match.

Do you still need ESPN+ for the Bundesliga?

No. For the German league, you do not need it at all — and if the Bundesliga was your reason for holding an ESPN subscription, you are now paying for something that no longer delivers what you bought it for.

Here is the full picture, including what ESPN still has and whether cancelling makes sense for you.

The direct answer

ESPN's Bundesliga rights ended after the 2025-26 season, closing a six-season run. For 2026-27:

  • English-language rights belong to Versant's USA Sports — 30-plus matches a season on USA Network, everything else free on Fandango.
  • Spanish-language rights belong to NBCUniversal's Telemundo — 100-plus matches on Telemundo and Universo, with every match on Peacock.

No ESPN product carries Bundesliga league matches. Not ESPN, not ESPN2, not ESPN Select, not ESPN Unlimited.

What ESPN+ even is now

Worth clearing up, because the name changed too. In August 2025, ESPN launched its full direct-to-consumer service and reorganized its products:

ProductWhat it isCost
ESPN app (free)Scores, news, highlights, fantasyFree
ESPN SelectThe former ESPN+ — same catalog, new name$13.99/month, $139.99/year
ESPN UnlimitedAll 12 ESPN networks including the live ESPN channel$31.99/month, $319.99/year

Existing ESPN+ subscribers were converted to ESPN Select automatically. If you have not looked at that line on your statement since 2025, it is probably still billing under a name you do not recognize.

The audit worth doing this week

Check whether you are still paying. ESPN+ subscriptions converted silently to ESPN Select. Look at your Disney account settings directly rather than assuming an old cancellation went through, and scan your card issuer's recurring-charge list for anything you no longer use. This is the single most common avoidable expense in streaming.

Ask what else you use it for. ESPN Select still carries a substantial live catalog — smaller-conference college sports, international soccer competitions, PGA Tour Live, NHL out-of-market coverage, and ESPN originals. If any of that matters to you, keep it. If the Bundesliga was the only draw, cancel.

Note what else left ESPN recently. The Bundesliga was not the only departure. UFC moved to Paramount+ at the start of 2026, and Formula 1 moved to Apple TV for the 2026 season. If your ESPN subscription was assembled around combat sports or motorsport as well as German football, none of those reasons still apply.

What ESPN does still have

To be fair to the service, ESPN Unlimited remains one of the strongest sports packages in America: the NFL including Monday Night Football, the NBA and the NBA Finals, college football and the College Football Playoff, the NHL, the WNBA, tennis, and golf. ESPN Select is genuinely good for niche live sport that is hard to find elsewhere.

The DFB-Pokal, the German cup, is also a separate rights package from the league and has been carried on ESPN platforms. If you follow the cup specifically, check current listings before cancelling — it was not part of the Versant or Telemundo agreements.

What to subscribe to instead

The honest answer for most Bundesliga fans is: much less than before.

What you needCostCoverage
Fandango appFree — no account~270–275 matches, English
Indoor antenna for Telemundo~$35 one-time100+ matches, Spanish
Peacock Premium$12.99/month, $129.99/yearEvery match, Spanish

Fandango Stream is free with no subscription, login, or registration, and runs on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Vizio smart TVs, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Apple Vision Pro, iOS, Android, and browsers.

The cheapest complete setup — Fandango plus an antenna plus Peacock Premium — runs about $165 in the first year and leaves no gaps. Under the old ESPN structure you paid a subscription and still got almost no linear television.

A note on double-paying

Peacock is bundled into some home internet and mobile phone plans. Before subscribing, check your provider's perks page. Streaming inclusions have become a standard retention tool for carriers and ISPs, and a meaningful number of people pay separately for services they already have.

Bundesliga on USA Network: schedule, kickoff times and how to get it

USA Network is the Bundesliga's linear television home in the United States for the first time this season, carrying a minimum of 30 matches a year under Versant's new English-language rights deal. It is the smaller half of the package — but it is where the marquee fixtures go.

Here is the schedule structure, the kickoff windows, and every way to get the channel.

What USA Network carries

Under a five-year agreement worth roughly $100 million and running through the 2030-31 season, Versant's USA Sports holds exclusive English-language Bundesliga rights in the US. The split works like this:

  • At least 30 matches a season on USA Network — the linear cable channel
  • Roughly 270 to 275 matches free on Fandango — everything else

USA Network gets the fixtures with the largest American audience: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Der Klassiker, the Revierderby, and matches featuring US internationals.

Saturday matches on USA Network typically land at 12:30 p.m. ET, creating a weekend tripleheader alongside the network's other football programming.

How to get USA Network

This is the one paid element of the Bundesliga's English-language coverage.

Fubo—Dropped USA Network in a December 2025 carriage dispute

Fubo removed USA Network in December 2025 during a dispute with NBCUniversal. A June 2026 agreement restored Telemundo and Universo to the service, but USA Network had not returned as of mid-2026 reporting. Verify the current lineup before subscribing for that reason.

USA Network's channel number differs by provider and market. Use your provider's lineup tool rather than a national list.

Is USA Network worth it for the Bundesliga alone?

Be honest about the arithmetic. Thirty matches a season against $420 to $1,080 a year is a poor per-match rate if German football is the only thing you would watch on the package.

Two cheaper alternatives cover the same fixtures:

Peacock Premium, $12.99 a month or $129.99 a year, carries every Bundesliga match — including all 30 USA Network fixtures — with Spanish commentary.

Fandango, free with no account, carries everything USA Network does not. If you only want the marquee matches in English and are unwilling to pay for a TV package, those particular fixtures are the gap.

A live TV package makes sense if you also want news, other sports, and general entertainment. It does not make sense purely for 30 football matches.

The rest of the picture

Fandango Stream is free with no subscription, login, or registration, and covers roughly 270 to 275 matches. It runs on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android and Google TV, Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Vizio smart TVs, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Apple Vision Pro, iOS, Android, and browsers.

Telemundo, free over the air with a $35 antenna, carries part of a 100-plus match Spanish-language slate. Universo carries the rest on cable, and Peacock has all of them.

ESPN carries no Bundesliga league matches. Its six-season run ended after 2025-26.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I watch the Bundesliga in 2026-27? Fandango (free, English), USA Network (30+ matches, English), Telemundo and Universo (Spanish), and Peacock (every match, Spanish).

Is it on ESPN+? No. ESPN's rights ended after 2025-26.

Is Fandango really free? Yes — no cost, subscription, login, or registration.
